WHAT ARE FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS?

There are a range of fat dissolving products out there (Lemon Bottle is our preferred option), but their main purpose is the same: to target and reduce stubborn pockets of fat. They contain ingredients such as bromelain, riboflavin, lecithin and deoxycholic acid - all of which helps us break down and absorb fat. When this is injected into the fat cells, the fat within the cells is then released into the bloodstream and carried away where it is eliminated by our lymphatic and renal system. They are a fantastic way to contour the body and help shift those pockets of fat that don’t seem to budge no matter how much weight you lose, but should not be used as a weight loss solution.

FAT DISSOLVING INJECTION FAQs

  • If you are within close range of your target weight and maintain a healthy diet/lifestyle, but are struggling to get rid of localised areas of fat then you will be suitable for fat dissolving!

    As long as you are generally in good health you will be safe to treat. However, there are a few medical exceptions that would mean you are unable to have the treatment, including being pregnant or breastfeeding, type 1 diabetes, and if you have any issues with kidney or liver function. A full medical health check will be performed to ensure you are suitable and safe to treat.

  • This depends on the product used and your body’s’ natural reaction to it. Some products can deliver results in a matter of days, others can take 3-4 weeks. For best results typically 2-5 sessions are recommended, again this varies from person to person.

  • Sometimes, even after a successful weight loss journey achieved through a healthy diet and lifestyle, we can still be left with stubborn pockets of fat that do not budge. This can sometimes be down to genetics, for example an individual who is slim but has a double chin would be an ideal candidate for fat dissolving injections to help shift those pockets of fat. Certain areas on the body are notoriously hard to lose fat, such as the love handles, bingo wings, bra fat and stomach fat, again these are all great areas to treat with fat dissolving injections.

  • The fat cells that are removed from the body with each treatment are permanently destroyed and will not come back, however this does not prevent new fat cells from forming. If you maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle your results will be permanent.

  • Fat dissolving injections may not be the best treatment for those with sagging skin, depending on the severity of the situation surgery may be a better option.

  • Each individuals pain response is totally different, with that being said any discomfort is minimal as numbing cream is applied before the treatment, and the treatment itself is very quick.

FAT DISSOLVING PRE & POST CARE ADVICE

    • Avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment

    • Avoid anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen for 24 hours before your treatment (unless prescribed by your doctor)

    • Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours before your treatment

    • Drink plenty of water for 2-3 days before your treatment

    • Minor bleeding, bruising, swelling and tenderness at the injection sites is normal

    • Do not touch or press on the area for at least 6 hours

    • Do not apply any cosmetic products to the area for at least 24 hours

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after your treatment

    • No heavy, strenuous activities for at least 24 hours after your treatment

    • No extreme heat exposure, swimming, saunas, steam rooms or similar for at least 48 hours after your treatment

    • You should maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle for best results

    • Make sure you drink at least 2-3 litres of water a day for 1 week after treatment. Your results rely heavily on this, the more water you drink the more easily your body can flush away the fat.
