Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique that involves gently removing dead skin and peach fuzz on the surface of your skin. It provides instant results, is non-invasive and has little to no downtime. It's perfect for anyone with dull, textured, dry skin or anyone looking to achieve a smoother, glowing complexion.

Blackheads are formed when dirt and oils in a pore oxidises and forms a plug. They are usually a little bit raised and dark brown or black in colour. However, blackheads are not to be confused with sebaceous filaments which are totally normal structures within the skin. Sebaceous filaments are common in all skin types and are usually greyish in colour.

Dermaplaning is a very gentle exfoliation treatment that involves carefully scraping away the top layer of dead skin cells and peach fuzz - it's totally painless.

No, it's physically impossible for dermaplaning to change the hair. Peach fuzz, or velous hair as its formally called is a different to the terminal hair on our legs or bikini line. Velous hair is soft, fine and will grow back exactly the same as it was before dermaplaning.

Both are exfoliation treatments, however microdermabraision only removes dead skin whereas dermplaning will remove dead skin and peach fuzz.

You should be able to see an improvement in the appearance of your skin immediately after your treatment.

There is no downtime, however some clients may experience a little bit of redness due to stimulating the skins surface which usually subsides soon after the treatment.

Anyone can benefit from skin treatments regardless of skin type, age, or gender. However certain skin conditions will prevent treatment.
Maisie is always on hand to offer advice or support if you have any questions following your procedure.
FACIAL TREATMENT PRE PROCEDURE

Avoid the use of sunbeds and natural sun exposure for two weeks before your treatment
Avoid any facial waxing, laser, IPL, chemical peel, microdermabraision or any similar facial treatments for two weeks before your treatment
Do not exfoliate for one week before your treatment
Stop the use of any AHA/BHA’s (salicylic, glycolic, lactic) or Vitamin A (retinol, retinal or similar) for one week before your appointment
If on prescription acne medication, you must wait 6 months from finishing your course before undergoing any treatment
Remove all jewellery before your facial and wear something comfortable, if having ‘The Full Works’ facial you will be asked to remove your top half before the treatment starts
We cannot treat anyone with sunburn/windburn or an active cold sore
Please advise us of any medications that you are on and any allergies or sensitivities before your appointment

You may experience some redness after your treatment, this is normal and usually subsides within a few hours
Please do not wear makeup for the rest of the day following your treatment, and avoid touching your face
You must wear SPF every day following your treatment – this is non-negotiable!
Cleanse your face at the end of the day following your treatment as you will have SPF on, and follow only with gentle products
Avoid heat or vigorous exercise for 24hrs post treatment as your skin will be more sensitive to irritation
Avoid acids/retinols for one week post treatment
Dermaplaning clients must wait 4 weeks in between appointments
